Greetings and welcome to the latest update! We have a fellow musician who told us the other day that he hasn't updated his website in 5 years so I'm not feeling so bad!) Hope everyone had fun over the holidays, we did, except for getting stuck at home because of the rain off and on the last 2 months. I think the band should add "Have You Ever Seen The Rain?" to their show, or "Good Day Sunshine" or "Here Comes the Sun" Back to business, the shows for New Years Eve and Carnival were great once again. Will upload videos as soon as the web allows me to. After a little break in January from Cochrans while they were having their break, the Band had their return gig on the night of Carnival and what a gig it was! Loved the Napoleans and there was one Joan of Arc (or was she a pixie?) who we wanted to take home with us. That Band has been playing the last couple of weeks both Friday and Saturday so if you're in Nerja, come on down and see them, request a song, tell them it's your birthday, have a dance (but no more rain dances!), drink and be merry with us. Sorry about the website not being updated in a while, it's been a busy summer for That Band. They've had tons of great gigs, but sadly both my camera and That Band's Mike decided they'd had enough and both cut out on us sometime in July. Our camera won't recover but Mike will and hopefully he will front another band soon.
Many thanks to all the places the guys's played, Cochrans Irish Pub in Nerja is top of the list, they're alwways great to us, La Cochera in La Herradura was another great gig, The Boatyard in Nerja put on a battle of the bands recently which was a blast, Spashtonbury at Splash in Frigiliana was amazing and the local policia should straighten out things so that they can have another one soon. The guys are always up for another gig so if you know of a place that's a local live music venue that they haven't played at yet, either let one of the guys know or go in and request that they concact That Band for a gig! You'll notice that the front page has been updated with recent photos, videos and a play list of songs that they do, why not request your favorite at the next gig? That's it for now except for a little message to Christopher Ian who came and helped roadie with me for a few gigs. Thank you baby! Two weeks of gigs, first Cochrans on May 9th, and then Legends in Salobreña on May 16th. Both gigs were great, lots of people at both. Sadly Antonio Vega passed away this past week and in his honor Javier sang his Chica de Ayer at Legends on Saturday night, a clip of it is down below. Our other big news is the That Band Tshirts arrived! Order them now or pick em up at the gig nearest you. And speaking of gigs, we've got 2 coming up this weekend, the first at Splashtonbury in Frigiliana and then later that night at Cochrans in Nerja! Cochrans on Saturday April 2! What a week this was! Duncan and I moved (catching our 4 cats was the most difficult part of it all!) and That Band had 2 gigs over the weekend as well as Duncan hosting the new jam session on Wednesday at Dallas and recording 11 kids for a birthday party at Look It's Music, the new recording studio in Almuñecar. We also ordered t shirts and they should be here the 2nd or 3rd week in May! and now on to the list of gigs for May; We also ordered That Band Tshirts this past week, contact us by email at [email protected] to let me know what sizes you need and how many. They will be 12€ each or 2 for 20€. That Band had 2 gigs this past Saturday. The first was at El Ancla in Torrox for the LIVE charity event. They were the last band of the night. It was great to see Martin, the El Ancla staff as well as friends from other bands like Tracy and Josh. They don't call it "Good Friday" for nothing! Last night's gig in Legends in Salobreña was really great, the place was packed with people celebrating birthdays and anniversaries and people out for the Easter holidays. Many thanks to Jo and Ricky and their staff, they always are great to us! Jo told me last night that their website will be up and running soon and we'll link to it, they have live music every week, in fact yesterday they'd had Not To Fall (another great local band consisting of a dad and his 2 sons) play in the afternoon so the people who were there got a full day of music! They also have other events throughout the week so if you are in Salobreña go check them out. They also do great food at reasonable prices, Roland had the biggest burger I've ever seen, so big that he shared it and his salad and plate of chips with Caroline, Nuria, me and Duncan and we all were full after! Mick was in ecstacy over the pork pie tapa too! How exciting! This is numero uno in the first of many hopefully! First off I want to tell you a bit about each band member, how they met, and why you should go see them play at a gig near you. |
